Network Member

Member Programs

We are happy to hear you're considering enrolling in GLG's Member Programs. Please review the information below and feel free to contact us if you have any questions. By enrolling in Member Programs you will be eligible to participate in ongoing and more in-depth projects with GLG clients.

What is Member Programs?

Enrolling in Member Programs is free and by doing so you become eligible to engage in more extensive consulting with GLG clients.

What are the benefits of enrolling?

First, you will be eligible to do more consulting with GLG clients. Network Members not enrolled in Member Programs are limited in terms of the quantity of projects they may undertake through GLG’s platform. Upon enrolling that limitation is lifted.

Second, you also become eligible to engage in projects beyond phone calls and surveys, including but not limited to written work, in-person meetings and events, expert witness work and more in-depth engagements.

How do I enroll?

To enroll you in Member Programs, we need confirmation from your company's HR, Legal, or similar group that you are permitted to do outside consulting. Alternatively, a confirmation from your CEO, CFO, CCO or Head of IR will also work. Below is the language we request you use to reach out to the appropriate person at your company:

A well-known research firm (GLG) has asked me if I would be interested in consulting with their clients – leading investment firms, corporations, consultancies, and not-for-profit organizations – on an as-needed basis.

Typically, these consultations would be brief, informal phone calls (typically 30-45 minutes) but, on occasion, they might also include in-person meetings, roundtables, teleconferences, or other types of work.

Obviously, I would not participate in consultations about our company or any confidential topic. Indeed, GLG is known as the market leader in the space because of the training, agreements and policies they have in place to prevent the solicitation or sharing of confidential information. You can learn more about GLG’s compliance framework here: https://glg.it/compliance/

As a Network Member in the GLG Network, I would be paid at a set hourly rate or pre-disclosed flat fee (these fees can be made payable to my employer, as applicable). Projects can be scheduled after normal business hours and I am under no obligation to accept them.

Nonetheless, I still wanted to confirm with you, an appropriate and authorized representative, that our organization does not have any policies prohibiting these types of engagements and that you are comfortable with me doing this type of paid consulting work on my own time. Please also note that GLG will periodically contact you to summarize and reconfirm that you are amenable to my participation.

If there are any project types in which I am not authorized to participate, please also let me know:

  • Telephone consultations (typically lasting less than one hour)
  • Blinded or unblinded online surveys (typically lasting less than 30 minutes)
  • In-person meetings
  • Presentations at conferences, teleconferences or Webcasts
  • Written reports

Should you prefer to present your employer with a document, you may print the form found here council-members/docs for your employer's review and completion

Once you obtain consent from the correct individual, please forward the entire email chain to GLGMemberPrograms@glgroup.com and ensure that the consenter's work email and phone number is available.

Note that, depending on your employment status and level, you may not need to obtain consent in order to be enrolled in Member Programs. For example, if you are self-employed, retired, or working independently we may be able to automatically enroll you. Please contact us if you believe you may be eligible for automatic enrollment.
